# Fees

> The builder fee, where every basis point goes, and the rest of the cost picture.

Agonaut's only fee is a small builder fee on your trading volume. Hyperliquid's
own trading fees apply separately, the same as trading on Hyperliquid directly.

## The builder fee

|          |                                           |
| -------- | ----------------------------------------- |
| Rate     | 0.030% of notional volume                 |
| Charged | At fill time, by Hyperliquid |
| Approved | Once, as a cap, when you activate trading |

You approve the cap up front (see [Activate](/getting-started/activate)). You
are only ever charged on real trades.

## Where the fee goes

The builder fee is the engine behind every reward on Agonaut. The large majority
flows straight back to the community:

    The majority of the fee funds competition prizes and referral payouts, back
    to traders in USDC.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Platform" icon="server">
    The remainder keeps Agonaut running: infrastructure, development, and
    operations.
  </Card>

<Note>
  The split is deliberately generous to the community. There is no token to prop
  up, so the fee can do its real job: reward the traders who make the arena.
</Note>

## Other costs

* **Hyperliquid trading fees** apply as normal, separate from the builder fee.
* **Withdrawals** carry a flat 1 USDC fee, taken by Hyperliquid.
* **Deposits** are just transfers, aside from a small one time activation on a
  brand new Hyperliquid account.
